Hehemann
received a MFA from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He co-owns
Vector Custom Fabrication, Inc., a company specializing in architectural metals.
His sculptures have contributed to Chicago area exhibits including Pier Walk,
Art Chicago, and Martin Luther King Drive Gateway Project. As the title suggests,
Hehemann's sculpture alludes to a mountain precipice. Slabs of granite are catapulted
as if precariously balanced in space. The staircase allows the viewer to ascend
the piece to view the surrounding landscape.
